A new thin-client server can optimize the entire diagnostic workflow, enabling cardiologists and radiologists to access original images and cardiac computed tomography (CT) studies on any standard personal computer (PC) throughout the entire hospital network.

Visage Imaging, Inc. (Carlsbad, CA, USA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. presented the Visage Thin Client product family featuring advanced tools for cardiac CT and CT/MR (magnetic resonance) angiography, at the third annual scientific meeting of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) 2008, held July 16-17, 2008 in Orlando, FL, USA.

Visage CS Cardiac Analysis features a rich set of new tools and optimizations such as calcium scoring, advanced semiautomatic segmentation of myocardium, improved automatic segmentation of the left ventricle, as well as optimized editing of the left ventricle model in multiple phases. The Visage CS Cardiac Analysis solution allows viewing and post-processing of even the largest multiphase cardiac CT studies by taking advantage of its unique thin-client technology.

At SCCT, Visage Imaging demonstrated the performance and the latest features of the upcoming release of Visage CS Thin Client/Server, covering advanced features for CT and MR angiography such as optimized vessel analysis workflow and multiphase data analysis for angiography. Improved features include improved manual editing of vessel and bone segmentations as well as powerful semiautomatic tools for bone removal. The award-winning Visage CS Thin Client platform provides direct access to imaging data anywhere throughout the hospital enterprise, thus allowing for an extremely fast display and processing even of the largest studies.

"Our completely integrated Visage CS solution offers advanced clinical applications and supports multiple modalities, from X-ray to PET/CT and cardiac CT,” said Marcelo Lima, president of Visage Imaging. "The Visage platform is fully scalable, and delivers unmatched performance levels as well as efficient remote processing on any client inside or outside the hospital network.”
