MAVIG GmbH (Munich, Germany) is presenting its latest innovations and developments in X-ray protection and medical suspension systems at MEDICA 2024.

The MAVIG product portfolio includes personal radiation protection equipment for users and patients, on-site X-ray protection, suspension systems for medical equipment, lamps, and a variety of accessories for on-site radiation protection as well as for personal protective equipment, such as storage systems or sterile disposable covers.

At this year’s MEDICA, MAVIG is showcasing the Victoria collection of personal protective equipment comprising aprons and coats for women. The innovative VICTORIA collection provides all-round X-ray protection especially for the female body by taking the female anatomy into account. With specially adapted armholes, the Victoria RA631 vest and Victoria RA636 coats offer ideal protection for sensitive breast tissue without compromising the freedom of movement. Princess seams (longitudinal dividing seams for a close-fitting cut) on the front ensure an ideal fit, while a stretch insert in the back ensures an optimal adaptation to the body shape.

MAVIG is also highlighting its state-of-the-art user protection for urology and other sitting applications including the RA641 X-ray protection apron. Using a functional one-piece apron that complies with the respective standards ensures ideal X-ray protection in any working position. However, when using a common front protection apron while working seated, the gonads might be exposed to a higher dose of X-rays. With MAVIG’s innovative urology radiation protection apron, the wearer is securely protected in any application. Also highlighted at the show is the OT81/OT91 X-ray protective shield that protects the lithotomy position. This newly-developed shield can be optimally integrated into the urology workflow. Despite the extremely confined space available, the shield offers optimal scattered radiation protection for the examiner.

Visitors to the MAVIG booth can also experience the company’s Portegra2 ceiling suspension systems which offer maximum safety and high flexibility. The Portegra2 system is an innovative solution for the protection of the head, eyes, thyroid gland, upper arms, and extremities from scattered radiation. All components can be assembled in the manner of a modular system and can be tailored to your individual requirements. Additionally, the MAVIG life cycle testing ensures 100% quality of all products delivered.
