McGraw-Hill (New York, NY, USA) has announced the immediate availability of the industry-leading anatomy and physiology title, Ganong's Review of Medical Physiology, 23rd Edition for iPad.

The iPad version of the title is available through the Inkling (San Francisco, CA) iPad app, an interactive content platform, and a free chapter of Ganong's is available immediately for download inside the app. Medical students and faculty can access the complete textbook along with interactive content including high-resolution illustrations, integrated assessment, digital media, and more--all especially designed for the iPad's dynamic display. The textbook is highly interactive, with the ability to add notes, watch videos, select and copy snippets of text, and bookmark places in the text. It contains a search engine as well, which is invaluable for finding specific paragraphs.

Ganong's Review of Medical Physiology for iPad includes over 100 anatomical diagrams with "test yourself" mode; more than 600 high-resolution images and illustrations; an interactive United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)-style quizzes with feedback and hints; integrated animations and videos; interactive three dimensional (3D) representation of molecules; a powerful cross-title search, and shared notes and highlights among users who have also signed up for the app. The edition is also available for purchase by the chapter, so students need only pay for what they need, when they need it.

"The iPad edition of Ganong's for Inkling enhances the study of anatomy and physiology," said Philip Ruppel, President of McGraw-Hill Professional. "The integration of media, the rich interactivity of content, and the ease of use combine to make it an essential learning tool for students and practitioners alike."

"Ganong's is the first medical title for Inkling, and it's one of the most compelling interactive learning experiences on the iPad so far," said Matt MacInnis, founder and CEO of Inkling. "It's clearly the best way to study medical physiology."
