Europe's leading congresses in electrophysiology and the treatment of heart rhythm disorders, Cardiostim and the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA Europace) have formed a strategic alliance to guarantee a homogeneous congress program under the direction of a common scientific committee. The current alliance maintains the 2006 agreement in which each organization holds their respective congress in alternating years and broadens the scope to a common vision and objectives in order to avoid fragmentation.

The new agreement ensures that both congresses retain their independence in terms of brand, ownership, and finance, but will cooperate in the planning and preparation of scientific content. The goals of the congresses remain to promote the field of electrophysiology in terms of training and accreditation, research, the exchange of clinical skills and cooperation with allied professionals and manufacturers.

Prof. Panos Vardas, president of EHRA said, "The EHRA is the indisputable European leader in the management of cardiac arrhythmias and we have entered this agreement with Cardiostim in the belief that together we can create a highly successful congress driven by a common program committee.

Dr Philippe Ritter, chairman of Cardiostim, added, "This agreement is an historic event for the European electrophysiology community.”
