In recognition of the company's product quality and customer service, Respironics, Inc. (Murrysville, PA, USA), has been named the 2005 Leader in Sleep Diagnostic Equipment Quality and Customer Service by Frost & Sullivan (Palo Alto, CA, USA).

The award recognizes Respironics for its production and support of the Alice family of polysomnographic (PSG) sleep systems and was based on input from 230 hospital-based, practice-based and independently owned and operated sleep service providers. Respironics exceeded the nearest competitor by over 18% in the award analysis.

"The team involved in the creation, development, and continued support of Alice has worked hard to make this product line stand out in the marketplace for its quality and reliability,” noted Ron Fligge, product manager, sleep diagnostics and homecare division.

The latest Alice displays and prints physiologic adult and infant patient information for clinicians and is designed to simplify the integration of sleep lab devices through a high-tech consolidation requiring a maximum of two cables. Alice collects data from sensors placed on a patient and delivers the information to a computer running the Alice Sleepware application. The system is compatible with, and has full integration to, all lab therapy devices of Respironics.

"Alice 5 not only simplifies the process of obtaining diagnostics in the laboratory setting but also helps advance sleep solutions by offering a wide range of parameters for patient evaluation,” added Mr. Fligge.
