A strategic partnership has been announced under which Quinton Cardiology Systems, Inc. (Bothell, WA, USA; www.quinton.com) will market several diagnostic devices of QRS Diagnostic, LLC (Plymouth, MN, USA).

Under the agreement, Quinton will sell PC card devices developed by QRS for cardiopulmonary diagnosis under the Burdick brand name. These include the Universal ECG SpiroCard and SpirOxCard as well as the Sensaire handheld spirometer. Burdick is a subsidiary of Quinton and has a strong distribution network focused on doctors' offices.

"The addition of QRS devices significantly broadens and strengthens our product line in one of our core markets,” stated John Hinson, CEO of Quinton. "QRS Diagnostic, with its patented PC Card technology, fulfills the increasing demand for PC and handheld medical devices.” With its patented computer card technology platform, QRS turns laptops and handheld PCs into portable medical devices that advance wireless patient monitoring.
