An electronic patient record system helps hospitals successfully make the transition to a completely paperless route from patient admission to discharge.

The Siemens Soarian Health Archive is a comprehensive archiving and document management solution that facilitates the management processes of clinical, administrative, and commercial documents such as e-mails, Microsoft Office documents, financial accounting data, personnel files, or contracts. The comprehensive archiving and document management platform offers high interoperability with existing hospital information technology (IT) solutions, even those provided by other healthcare IT suppliers.

Some of the benefits of the system include connection to hospital information systems (HIS) from Siemens, as well other providers or to subsystems; a certified SAP ArchiveLink interface; archiving of all contents of a patient record with integrated search functionality within the HIS; emergency access to patient records and documents independently of the clinical system; reception of documents in various formats such as DOC, TIFF, GIF, and PDF, and conversion to formats suitable for archiving. In addition, various system interfaces are compatible with Soarian Health Archive, such as HL7, FTP, DICOM, and XML, reinforcing the cross-platform functionality of the Siemens Healthcare solution.

The Siemens Soarian Health Archive is complemented by Soarian Clinicals, a holistic workflow technology that helps healthcare organizations to coordinate patient care processes, synchronizing handoffs, expediting communications, and providing automated assistance for completing process steps. It utilizes a key differentiator, Healthcare Process Management that enables healthcare professionals to manage proactively each step in the best practice care pathway determined by the organization, while allowing adaptability to an individual patient’s care plan based on their unique care needs. Siemens Soarian Health Archive and Soarian Clinicals are products of Siemens Healthcare (Erlangen, Germany).
