Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions (Informa; Dubai, UAE), organizers of the annual Arab Health Exhibition & Congress (Dubai, United Arab Emirates), has taken stewardship of the popular Florida International Medical Expo (FIME) Exhibition & Congress, the largest medical trade exhibition in the Western Hemisphere.

Serving North, Central, and South America, FIME 2016 is set to take place from August 2-4, 2016 at the Miami Beach Convention Center (Miami, FL, USA), for the first time under the management of Informa, and with a new format and structure. More...
While the primary focus will remain across medical technology, medical products & supplies, medical services, and medical equipment, attendees will be offered enhanced opportunities to discover the latest medical technologies and cutting-edge devices from across the globe.

With 38 participating countries, the international scope of the event will enable visitors able to source products and medical services from across all continents. A new Dealers & Distributors Wall, an area dedicated to facilitating business relationships between visitors and exhibitors, will help trade show visitors fast-track their communications channels, allowing them to deal more directly with exhibitors in the four specific industry sectors.

The new FIME will also offer a multi-specialty workshop program, in line with Informa’s motto of ‘Exhibition with Education’, which will provide a knowledge-sharing and networking platform for healthcare trade professionals in the region. The program will offer participants practical advice on positioning their businesses at the forefront of the healthcare industry by creating sustainable supply chains, powerhouse management strategies, empowering the workforce, better project management, and leveraging digital marketing to enable a thriving business.

Healthcare executives, government officials, hospital management, clinicians, technicians, and business development professionals will address the participants, with some of the key speakers including Richard Vincins, vice president of QA/RA at Emergo (USA); Shelly Garg, an attorney at the FDA Practice Group of Sandler, Travis, and Rosenberg (USA); Divya Khullar, managing partner of www.USAPatents.com (USA); Maggie Morales-Perez, President & CEO, of Healthcare International Partners (USA); Juliana Negrini and Nathalia Medina, of the Vera Rosas Group (Brazil); and Lucas Rodrigues, of Passarini Consulting (Mexico).

“The recent acquisition of FIME fits in firmly with our goal of expanding our international trade show operations in the region and with our existing portfolio of life sciences events across the globe,” said Simon Page, managing director of Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions. “FIME will generate substantial value for our customers and partners by driving further product innovation and deeper engagement in these specific markets, and it will send a positive message on the strength of commercial value opportunities within the medical device industry as a whole.”

Informa’s Life Sciences Exhibitions Division operates 26 exhibitions and more than 100 conferences yearly covering African, Middle Eastern, European, and Asian markets, connecting over 150,000 healthcare professionals worldwide and offering a range of marketing solutions for companies involved with the healthcare sector. Informa also publishes four international healthcare magazines, maintains the Dothealth healthcare portal, which showcases over 40,000 healthcare companies, and runs Healthy Change, an online recruitment portal.
