Portable Endoscopic Camera Shares Images

Physicians can share captured images and exam findings with the patient, a family member, or another colleague immediately following the exam, which can reduce the need for repeat procedures. The combination of data acquisition, storage, management, and the synchronization of patient folders in an easy-to-use web-based application also makes it possible to send an image or video over a secured connection to a referring doctor outside the facility.

The endogo HD easily couples with both flexible and rigid endoscopes, transforming the captured images and video from analog to digital. The camera also has built-in light source optimization for high-quality imaging and a 3.5-inch removable liquid crystal display (LCD) touch-screen for multimedia playback. Another benefit is compatibility of the endogo HD with electronic medical record (EMR) systems; using eGoWorks, a proprietary online data storage and collaborative software, allows the data acquired to be used within EMR. The endogo HD imaging system is a product of Envisionier Medical Technologies (Woodstock, GA, USA), and is distributed by Cook Medical (Cook, Bloomington, IN, USA).

The endogo HD is intended for use in a range of clinical applications, including otolaryngology – head and neck surgery, routine examinations of the ear, nose and throat (ENT), transnasal flexible laryngoscopy (TFL) with biopsy, transnasal esophagoscopy (TNE), office based sinus procedures, difficult airways, bedside consultation, speech and language pathology, flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES), and flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing with sensory testing (FEEST).
