Fluke Biomedical Launches Online Training Center

Fluke Biomedical (Everett, WA, USA), a global leader in medical device quality assurance solutions, has launched the Advantage Training Center, an online resource aimed at providing accessible training to the biomedical engineering community.

The Advantage Training Center features a curriculum that was developed by subject matter experts, including members of the Biomedical Engineering School at the University of Vermont (UVM; Burlington, USA) faculty. More...
The curriculum covers the full spectrum of medical device preventive maintenance measures, as well as quality assurance procedures for biomedical and diagnostic imaging equipment. Course topics range from introduction to basic terminology to advanced technical applications, and are available for all skills levels.

The courses follow an e-learning format and allow users to control their own learning experience, with unlimited free access that allows them to complete courses at their own pace and discretion. Hundreds of training tools are available, including white papers, application notes, quizzes, and more than 20 hours of recorded modules. Certificates of completion are issued upon passing a quiz at the end of a course to support continuing education efforts in the biomedical engineering community.

“Having access to little or no product training is a real issue our customers face around the world. Inadequate training poses a serious risk to patient safety,” said Jerry Zion, global training manager for Fluke Biomedical. “Developing a common understanding of medical device risk management is crucial to improving the quality of global health. We’re enabling the broader biomedical engineering community to achieve a higher level of continuing education that they can apply and use every day.”

Fluke Biomedical is a world class manufacturer of biomedical test and simulation products, including electrical safety testers, patient simulators, performance analyzers, and fully-integrated and automated performance testing and documentation systems. The company also provides diagnostic imaging, radiation safety, and oncology quality-assurance solutions for regulatory compliance. All company products carry a distinctive orange and grey design.
