Carestream Health (Rochester, NY, USA) featured several medical imaging innovations ranging from health IT to mobile X-ray at Arab Health 2021, although the highlight was its new glass-free Lux 35 medical detector.

The Lux 35 is Carestream’s lightest ever medical detector featuring an innovative design that replaces glass with a lighter, more durable material. This makes the detector easier to carry and position, helping minimize technologist muscle strain and fatigue. The ergonomic design, light weight and rounded edges are especially helpful when doing bedside imaging. The Lux 35 also offers strategically placed finger grips to make transport and positioning easier still - and together, lighter weight and a better grip can reduce the frequency and cost of drops and breakage. Carestream also showcased its Focus 35C and 43C detectors, powered by advanced Image Suite Software, and the small-format DRX Plus 2530C detector that provides quick and easy positioning in incubator trays for pediatric imaging.

Also on display were Carestream’s DRX-Compass X-ray System with just the right selection of advanced features and options to take workflow to a new level of efficiency; the company’s flagship DRX-Evolution Plus which has set a benchmark for X-ray room imaging performance; and the ultra-maneuverable DRX-Revolution Mobile Imaging System, featuring the world’s first automatic, collapsible column. At this year’s Arab Health, Carestream also highlighted its range of laser imagers, including the DryView 6950, DryView 5700 and DryView 5950.
