An innovative radiofrequency (RF) system delivers therapeutic heat to internal and external vaginal tissue to improve local circulation.

The Cynosure (Westford, MA, USA) TempSure Vitalia device is designed to deliver RT treatment to female genital areas so as to maintain intimate wellness without the use of hormones or invasive procedures. During the procedure, a small treatment tip is slowly inserted into the vaginal opening. Next, RF energy heats the internal vaginal tissues to promote collagen and elastin growth, resulting in tightness and increased nerve sensitivity. A second treatment tip is massaged around the vulva to gently heat external tissue.

In order to deliver precise heating to smaller, hard to reach areas, such as internal vaginal and labial tissues, a special hand piece probe is used. Treatments last between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. A dose counter is used to monitor and safely deliver the recommended dose of RF to the targeted areas, with built-in dual temperature sensing providing for increased efficacy, consistency, and accuracy.

“TempSure Vitalia responds to customers who expressed a need for a consistent and effective intimate wellness therapy that takes the guesswork out of RF treatments. It also expands the offerings on our TempSure radiofrequency platform,” said Kevin Thornal, division president of Cynosure. “We are pleased that in just six months, we were able to launch an additional handpiece, while simultaneously providing a solution to patients who have experienced changes in their vaginal health over time.”
