Resurfacing System Model:BIRMINGHAM HIP
Description
BIRMINGHAM HIP Resurfacing System has been designed using knowledge gained from first-generation metal-on-metal total hips and a thorough understanding of hip resurfacing principles. This bone-conserving total hip system is produced using the investment casting process from high-carbon cobalt chrome in the ‘as-cast’ micro-structural condition, making it ideal for younger or more active male patients.
Features
• Metallurgy: Produced using the investment casting process from high-carbon cobalt chrome in the ‘as-cast’ micro-structural condition.
• Wear testing: By 2 million cycles, the formation of the classical Stribeck curve indicates a considerable contribution from the fluid film, continuing to be evident at 3 million cycles.
