HIMSS Analytics Europe (HAE) will provide health care organizations, governments, and healthcare information technology (HIT) companies extensive data resources and services about the adoption and use of HIT in Europe. More...

A new company owned by Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS; Chicago, IL, USA), HAE will offer a full array of services to health care organizations such as comparative information technology (IT) adoption benchmarking, a European-formulated electronic medical record (EMR) Adoption Model (EMRAM) scale, and other resources to help hospital directors, IT executives, and clinicians better understand not only their own IT operations but how they compare to others. Resources for country-level policy makers and supplier companies that provide insight into the HIT marketplace will also be a part of the new offerings.

HAE was formed by the recent purchase by HIMSS of the assets of Hospital IT.Net (Leipzig, Germany), which serves as the foundation of the new entity and will be the basis for a new portfolio of products and services for the European health care market.
The development of the initial offerings will occur during July 2010 with a full launch of resources planned for late September 2010.

"HIMSS Analytics Europe services will enable hospitals, their IT suppliers, and governments to make practical assessments of their IT activities. This is a crucial step for HIMSS Europe in its mission to transform healthcare through the effective use of information technology,” said H. Stephen Lieber, president and CEO of HIMSS.

"The launch of HIMSS Analytics Europe brings together world-class research and analytics with profound European experience and the most extensive database of Hospital IT adoption in Europe,” said Uwe Buddrus, former owner of Hospital IT.Net, who will serve as managing director of HAE.
